Wolfwalkers leads Manchester Animation Festival online line-up
James R | On 09, Nov 2020
The Manchester Animation Festival is going online this year, with Cartoon Saloon’s Wolfwalkers leading the line-up.
The film, which was released in UK cinemas last month, will stream on Apple TV+ from 11th December. With cinemas closed, for those keen to catch the film before then, MAF 2020 provides the answer. The movie – read our five-star review here – joins two other features at the festival, Josep and Calamity, a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary. All three will be available to rent and stream during the festival, which runs from 15th to 30th November. (Wolfwalkers is available from 18th November until 21st November.)
The festival will also include talks, panels and workshops, with some of them delivered live (primarily between 15th and 19th November) and most available to watch on-demand even after their initial stream. The festival also features masterclasses, a workshop and a large selection of short films, some of them student projects.
The films and other titles are powered by Eventive, with Q&s and workshops held over Zoom. Tickets for individual films and events cost £5, with titles available for 24 hours once you’ve started viewing. Workshops cost £12 each and have limited spaces available. All short films and features are geolocked to the UK and Northern Ireland. A pass is available for £25 that offers one free ticket to each event and screening (excluding feature films and workshops) and a 40% discount on feature films. Tickets for titles with linked Q&As will automatically include access to those.
