Viewster has teamed up with YouTube creators to launch new branded channels.
The ad-supported site has established itself as a free hub for legal streaming of anime in the UK, but its new deals will bring a wealth of short-form content to its global line-up.
Exclusive partners include digital animation studio Mondo Media, creators of Happy Tree Friends and Dick Figures, AllTime10s and How It Should Have Ended, each of whom have large following on YouTube.
All channels will be available worldwide and will be regularly updated with new content.
“Digital-first content as we are now proud to offer in our Branded Channels, is an exciting window into the future of entertainment,” says Azadeh Stoelken, Director of Content at Viewster. “We picked these amazing channels to complement our existing anime, science fiction and thriller offering for our critical and engaged audience.”
More channels covering gaming and animation will be announced in September.
Here’s a quick run-down of what to expect from each new channel:
AllTime10s
“Covering everything from quantum physics to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air; military history to unexplained phenomena, Alltime10s is funny, irreverent and informative top 10 lists on any subject in the world.”
Mondo Media
“Warning: Mondo is not for children or big babies. It’s a weird and bloody channel where sadness goes to die—and animated series like Happy Tree Friends, Dick Figures and Deep Space 69 sip champagne and eat the finest mermaid sushi.”
How It Should Have Ended
“Sometimes movies don’t finish the way we’d like. That’s when we turn to How It Should Have Ended — a place for animated parody alternate endings to major motion pictures.”
