“That’s the thing about luck. It balances out in the end.”
Sky 1 has released a trailer for its new original series, Lucky Man, from Stan Lee.
The 10-episode show starts on 22nd January and is the first UK TV drama from the comic book legend.
It stars James Nesbitt as DI Harry Clayton, a cop from Central London’s Murder Squad, who is given a charm by a mysterious woman that seems to confer upon the wearer the ability to control luck. The timing could not be better, with Harry’s wife (Eve Best) and child both having left him and his boss suspecting him of being in league with the devil. Oh, and there’s the small matter of the infamous underworld crime boss who is threatening his life.
Commissioned by Sky 1 Director, Adam MacDonald, Sky’s Head of Drama, Anne Mensah and Commissioning Editor, Cameron Roach, it is being made in collaboration with Lee’s multi-media entertainment company POW! Entertainment.
The show also stars Sienna Guillory, Amara Karan, Darren Boyd, Omid Djalili, Jing Lusi and Kenneth Tsang.
Richard Fell, Executive Producer, adds: “Lucky Man is a different kind of superhero show – Stan has come up with an absolutely brilliant idea; something that we can all relate to. What if you could control luck?”
For those without Sky, Lucky Man will be available to watch online live and on-demand through NOW. Sky’s VOD service offers access to pay-TV channels without the need for a lengthy contract. As well as Sky 1, NOW’s “Entertainment Membership” includes Sky Atlantic and FOX UK for £6.99 a month.
The show arrives ahead a raft of superhero series set to land on NOW and Sky 1 in February, including the second halves of Supergirl, Arrow Season 4 and The Flash Season 2, plus the debut of Arrow spin-off Legends of Tomorrow.
