Sci-fi series Residue has landed on Netflix UK.
The show, which reunites Game of Thrones’ Natalia Tena and Iwan Rheon, follows renowned photojournalist Jennifer Preston, who is investigating the aftermath of a terrible explosion that ripped through the city on New Year’s Eve. Known simply as ‘The Catastrophe’, this shocking tragedy has left behind a festering wound.
A Quarantine Zone has been erected around the epicentre of the blast, a network of empty buildings and abandoned streets, supervised by heavily armed security. As unexplained and increasingly bizarre acts of violence erupt across the city, Jennifer begins to notice strange, ephemeral phantoms in her photographs…
The show is written by John Harrison (Tales from the Darkside) and, promisingly, is directed by Alex Garcia Lopez, who helmed part of Channel 4’s superb (and sadly cancelled) Utopia.
You can see all three episodes of the series exclusively on Netflix UK – and you can watch the trailer above.
