>Earlier this week, we broke the news that Netflix had acquired the siege thriller 6 days, starring Mark Strong and Jamie Bell. Now, we’ve got a closer look at the film in action.
Directed by Toa Fraser and produced by Matthew Metcalfe, the British-New Zealand co-production takes us back to April 1980, when six armed gunmen stormed the Iranian Embassy in Princes Gate, London, taking 26 people inside hostage. Over the next six days, a tense standoff took place, as a group of highly trained soldiers from the SAS prepared for a raid, the likes of which the world had never seen before.
Strong plays Chief Inspector Max Vernon, a negotiator brought in to avoid the gunmen’s threats being carried out, while Bell stars as SAS team leader Rusty Firmin. The feature film will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on Tuesday 10th October, joining a number of other Netflix titles at the festival, including Small Town Crime, starring John Hawkes and Lucy Cohen’s documentary, Kingdom of Us. The movie will be released on Netflix UK on Friday 3rd November.
