Craig Ferguson returns to Netflix this Christmas for another stand-up special.
The comedian and Emmy-winning television won fans with his almost 10-year stint hosting CBS’ late-night talk show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. With James Corden taking over the gig in 2015, he has since gone on to host Celebrity Name Game, Join or Die with Craig Ferguson and, of course, is known for voicing Gobber in How to Train Your Dragon.
But as he’s moved away from the talk show sofa, Craig has also stepped back into the stand-up arena, recording a stand-up special – I’m Here to Help – for Netflix back in 2013. Now, he’s filmed another: Tickle Fight. Performing before a packed-house at Montreal’s Ludger-Duvernay Theatre at the 2017 Just For Laughs Festival, the one-hour set sees Ferguson tackle topics including the challenges of growing a beard, his love of hating magicians, coming of age in the 70s, social media angst, and sharing what he believes to be the oldest joke in the world.
It marks Netflix’s continuing investment in expanding its library of stand-up comedy, which includes everyone from Jimmy Carr and Judah Friedlander to Dave Chapelle and Amy Schumer. Ferguson’s special premieres on Netflix on 5th December. Here’s a trailer – or, for more on what’s coming soon to Netflix UK in December 2017, click here.
