The Mandalorian Season 3 in the works at Disney+

Work is already underway on Season 3 of The Mandalorian at Disney+.
Set after the fall of the Empire in Episode VI, long after the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, it follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) plays the eponymous bounty hunter on a mission to collect a particularly difficult prize. The cast also includes Werner Herzog, Nick Nolte and Gina Carano, as well as Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito – and, of course, one Baby Yoda.
The pairing of Pascal and Baby Yoda in particular has seen the show skyrocket to pop culture sensation status.
“This rough and ready sci-fi Western is the best thing to happen to Star Wars since Luke found out who his father was,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
It was no surprise, then, when it turned out that it had swiftly been commissioned for a second season. The release date of that is still expected to be October, with production already wrapped on the sophomore run before the coronavirus outbreak. Now, though, creator Jon Favreau is already work on pre-production for a third run.
Variety reports that Favreau has been writing Season 3 “for a while”, with the art department working on concepts for the “past few weeks”.
The news comes as Rosario Dawson has been recently confirmed as joining Season 2, possibly playing Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano. Season 1, meanwhile, continues to drop new episodes weekly on Fridays in the UK.
