The Jinx will will return to Sky Docuemntaries next month, for a second chapter in the true crime saga.
The series is a continuation of the groundbreaking HBO documentary series The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst from Andrew Jarecki, which debuted in 2015. That explored information discovered during a seven-year investigation of a series of unsolved crimes, and the man at their centre: Robert Durst, scion of New York’s billionaire Durst family.
Long suspected in the 1982 disappearance of his young wife in New York, the 2000 murder of the key witness in the case in Beverly Hills, and the subsequent murder and dismemberment of a neighbour in Texas, Durst has consistently maintained his innocence – the programme was made with his full co-operation.
Now, Andrew Jarecki has directed The Jinx – Part Two, a six-episode follow-up. It will see the filmmakers continue their investigation for the next eight years, uncovering hidden material, Durst’s prison calls, and interviews with witnesses who had not come forward until now.
Presented by HBO Documentary Films, the series is a Hit The Ground Running Production, executive produced by Zac Stuart-Pontier, Andrew Jarecki, Kyle Martin, produced by Charlotte Kaufman and Sam Neave, and co-produced by Richard Hankin and Susan Lazarus. For HBO, it is executive produced by Nancy Abraham, Lisa Heller and Sara Rodriguez.
The series wil premiere on Sky Documentaries and NOW from Monday 22nd April, with new episodes available weekly.
