I Am Groot will return to our screens this September, and a new trailer gives us a first look at Season 2.

The troublemaking twig will be back on Disney+ for more mischief, as Baby Groot finds himself exploring the universe and beyond aboard the Guardians’ spaceships, coming face-to-face with new and colourful creatures and environments. Vin Diesel is back as the voice of Groot in five all-new shorts. Kirsten Lepore, writer/director of Season 1, returns at the helm.

You can watch the unfolding carnage on 6th September, when all shorts premiere together on Disney+. In the meantime, here’s the trailer:

Groot will soon be back on our screens in a new animated series, and a trailer gives us a first look at the animated anthology.

I Am Groot comprises five original shorts starring Baby Groot, everyone’s favorite little tree, along with several new and unusual characters.

Written and directed by Kirsten Lepore, it will see the mischievous toddler take centre stage in a collection of storise that explore his glory days growing up among the stars. Baby Groot will once again be voiced by Vin Diesel, who voiced Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, and will feature such stories as Groot Takes a Bath.

A second season of shorts is on the way in the future. In the meantime, the first five shorts will all debut together on Disney+ on 10th August. Here’s the video:

 

I Am Groot to debut on Disney+ this August

Groot is heading to DIsney+ this August to make his solo series debut.

The animated series I Am Groot will comprise five original shorts starring Baby Groot, everyone’s favorite little tree, along with “several new and unusual characters”.

The mischievous arboreal toddler will take centre stage in his very own series, which will explore his glory days growing up among the stars. Vin Diesel, who is the voice of Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, will provide the voice of Baby Groot. The writer/director is Kirsten Lepore, and the executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum and James Gunn.

All five episodes will premiere at once on Disney+ on 10th August.

 

 

The Guardians of the Galaxy head to Disney+ for I Am Groot and holiday special

The Guardians of the Galaxy are getting the Disney+ treatment, with a new series featuring Groot and a holiday special with the whole gang.

Before Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot hit the big screen with the next Guardians of the Galaxy film in 2023, the Guardians will engage in some spirited shenanigans in an original special, created for Disney+. James Gunn will write and direct the festive outing, which will feature the ragtag bunch of misfits getting into the holiday spirit. It will premiere on Disney+ during the 2022 holiday season.

The special was announced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige at Disney’s Investor Day last night, along with another Guardians outing for Disney+, I Am Groot.

The series will see everyone’s favourite little tree get his own solo series, with the seedling joined by several “new and unusual characters” for a string of shorts.

The two new commissions arrive as Marvel prepares to launch its MCU Phase 4, with WandaVision arriving in January and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier arriving in March.
