The Bear returns for Season 2 this July

The Bear will return for a second helping this July on Disney+ UK.
Created by Christopher Stoner (Ramy, Eighth Grade), the drama is about food, family, the insanity of the grind, the beauty of Sense of Urgency and the steep slippery downsides. It follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef who leaves the world of fine dining to return home to return the family sandwich shop, following the death of his brother. There, he clashes with his brother’s best friend, Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), who has been keeping the place going.
“This pressure-cooker kitchen drama is finely seasoned TV to savour,” we wrote in our review of Season 1, which premiered on Disney+ in October 2022.
Season 2 follows Carmy, Richie and Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) as they work to transform their grimy joint into a next-level spot. As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future.
Of course, it turns out the only thing harder than running a restaurant is opening a new one, and the team must juggle the insane bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning. The transition brings a newfound focus on hospitality as well. As the entire staff is forced to come together in new ways, pushing the boundaries of their abilities and relationships, they also learn what it means to be in service, both to diners and each other.
The half-hour series also stars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Edwin Lee Gibson, Oliver Platt and newcomer Molly Gordon in recurring roles.
With the series nominated in the international category for a BAFTA this weekend, it’s natural timing for Disney to serve up the news that Season 2 will premiere on 19th July on Disney+ UK, with all 10 episodes dished up at once.
