Star Wars: The Bad Batch to end with Season 3
David Farnor | On 11, Apr 2023
Star Wars: The Bad Batch will officially return to Disney+ in 2024 – but the third season will also be its last.
The original animated series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.
The Bad Batch is executive produced by Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian), Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Brad Rau (Star Wars Rebels) and Jennifer Corbett (Star Wars Resistance) with Carrie Beck (The Mandalorian) as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes (Star Wars Resistance) as producer. Rau also serves as supervising director with Corbett as head writer.
Following the events of Season 2, it was confirmed at the weekend at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 that Season 3 is on the way.
Season 3 will see the Emperor (once again voiced by Palpatine actor Ian McDiarmid) visit Dr Royce Hemlock, leader of the Empire’s cloning efforts, on Mount Tantiss, catch up with several characters in Imperial custody and feature several worlds and characters, including Republic commandos, clones, Rex, plenty of giant creatures and Ming-Na Wen’s fan-favourite bounty hunter, Fennec Shand.
Stay tuned for a trailer and more details.
