The Affair Season 4 gets UK air date

The Affair Season 4 has finally got a UK air date, with Showtime’s drama set to return on Sky Atlantic this June.
The series, which stars Dominic West and Ruth Wilson, follows Alison, a young woman waiting tables at a popular Hamptons diner, who begins an affair with West’s married husband. What follows is a conflicting series of flashbacks, as we explore the story of their infidelity from alternative perspectives. The result is a mesmerising study of memory, lies, control and story-telling. What makes the show so gripping is creators Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi’s decision to add more POVs to the mix as the series continues, starting with their spouses (Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson) in Season 2. That extension forces us to spread our sympathy further, adding shades of grey to the muddy waters.
Now, those waters are only set to get muddier. Before the Season 3 finale has even aired, Showtime announced that it had already commissioned a fourth run. It’s a decision made with good reason: the first and second season picked up three Golden Globes in total. Season 3, which saw Irene Jacob’s new lover of Noah join the cast with a fifth perspective on events, was hailed in our review as “television’s most captivating and authentic drama”.
“Formulaic, authentic and detailed viewing, it is patent proof that you don’t need to be shooting zombies or raising dragons to be entertaining,” we added.
Season 4 finds Noah, Helen, Alison and Cole in their own orbits, alienated from each other and spinning further away from where it all began. With everyone involved in a new relationship, are they now prepared to leave the past behind? Or will they attempt to change the narrative?
It premieres on Tuesday 26th June 2018 at 9pm on Sky Atlantic, with new episodes arriving weekly on Tuesdays. For those who need to catch up, Season 1 to 3 are also on Sky Box Sets. Don’t have Sky? You can also stream The Affair live and on-demand on NOW, as part of a £7.99 monthly Entertainment Membership, with no contract. The subscription includes streaming access to multiple Sky channels, including Sky Atlantic (Westworld, Billions, Game of Thrones), Sky Living (Elementary), and FOX UK (Legion, The Walking Dead).
