Taskmaster unveils Season 14 line-up

Taskmaster has unveiled its line-up of contestants for Season 14.
The BAFTA and National Comedy Award-winning competition series sees a group of comedians take on a string of surreal and pointless challenges, placing themselves under the scrutiny of Taskmaster Greg Davies and the watchful eye of his obedient assistant Little Alex Horne.
“With Covid-19 restrictions over and the panel back in front of a studio audience, their willingness to trash each other’s efforts without hesitation adds a much-missed edge to the silliness, while the tasks are as fiendishly daft as ever,” we wrote in our review of Season 13.
Now, Channel 4 is already looking ahead to the next season, with more of comedy’s best and bravest souls signing up to compete. The news arrives after the most absurd show on television held a one-off special Taskmaster Champion of Champions, where previous winners from Season 6 to 10 reunited,
Hoping to follow in their footsteps in Season 14 will be stand-up comedian and television presenter Dara Ó Briain (Mock The Week, BBC Two), stand-up comedian Fern Brady (Live At The Apollo, BBC One), stand-up, writer, and actor John Kearns (the only comedian to have won both the Edinburgh Comedy Awards for Best Show and best Newcomer), comedian, broadcaster and leading digital creator Munya Chawawa (BAFTA Nominated Race Around Britain, YouTube Originals), and award-winning stand-up comedian and writer Sarah Millican.
Executive Producers for the series are Alex Horne, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, James Taylor, Jon Thoday and Andy Devonshire (The Apprentice and The Great British Bake Off), who also acts as Series Director, while Andy Cartwright is Series Producer. Commissioned for Channel 4 by Head of Entertainment, Phil Harris and Head of Live Events, Tom Beck.
No air date has yet been confirmed but you can likely expect it on our screens near the end of the year.
