Taskmaster has unveiled its line-up for Season 16, which continues to find star comedy names willing to subject themselves to the scrutiny of Greg Davies.
The BAFTA and National Comedy Award-winning competition series sees a group of comedians take on a string of surreal and pointless challenges, judged by Davies’ Taskmaster, while a watchful Little Alex Horne calmly observes and takes notes.
Season 15, which reached its finale this week, saw Frankie Boyle, Ivo Graham, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Jenny Eclair and Mae Martin duke it out to win the Taskmaster’s favour – and a golden bust of his head.
Season 16 will see five comics simultaneously bringing their A-Game and bracing themselves for the most bizarre show on television: comedian, performer, and author Julian Clary (Friday Night Live), comedy actor, writer and stand-up Lucy Beaumont (Meet The Richardsons), multi-award winning stand-up Sam Campbell (Bloods), presenter, writer and comedian Sue Perkins (Perfectly Legal), and actor, writer and director Susan Wokoma (Cheaters).
Taskmaster is produced by Avalon and Executive Producers for the series are Alex Horne, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, James Taylor, Jon Thoday and Andy Devonshire who also acts as Series Director, while Andy Cartwright will also continue as Series Producer. Taskmaster is commissioned for Channel 4 by Tom Beck, Head of Live Events and Commissioning Editor, Entertainment, with Phil Harris, Head of Entertainment and Events.
