Steven Yeun has inked a first-look deal with Amazon Studios.
The actor, who is best known for his role as Glenn in The Walking Dead, swiftly became a fan favourite among viewers of the hit AMC horror show. He’s since gone on to star in Chang-dong Lee’s acclaimed Burning and CBS’ reboot of The Twilight Zone, plus Drunk History and The Big Bang Theory. Most recently, he appeared in Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari, which follows a Korean family who move to Arkansas in the 1980s. The film, which won the Grand Jury and Audience awards at Sundance this year, is also exec-produced by Yeun.
The multi-talented star is no stranger to Amazon, leading the voice cast of Invincible, its new animated series based on Robert Kirkman’s graphic novel. Now, he’s taking that relationship up a gear, working with Amazon Studios to develop and produce series for Amazon Prime Video.
“I feel very fortunate and privileged in these times to be given an opportunity to tell more stories,” said Yeun in a statement. “I am humbled to be in such good company with the incredible talent at Amazon, and I am very much looking forward to collaborating with unique voices to tell stories that connect us.”
