STARZPLAY is now available on Roku devices.
For £4.99 a month, the streaming service offers access to hundreds of movies and series, including STARZ Originals such as The Spanish Princess, as well as curated series such as The Act, Ramy and Mr. Mercedes, plus the recently acquired DC series Pennyworth and Doom Patrol, the Veronica Mars revival and Four Weddings and a Funeral the TV series. Other titles on the subscription service include Hitch, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and No Country for Old Men.

STARZPLAY launches standalone mobile app
25th November 2019
STARZPLAY has launched a new standalone mobile app for UK viewers.
The app, which is also available in Brazil, France, Germany and Mexico, has previously been available in the USA, where Starz says it has seen “great success”, with more than 5.6 million OTT customers to date.
For £4.99 a month, STARZPLAY offers access to hundreds of movies and series, including STARZ Originals such as the recently debuted The Spanish Princess as well as curated series such as The Act and Mr. Mercedes, as well as the recently acquired DC series Pennyworth and Doom Patrol. Films on the subscription service include Hitch, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and No Country for Old Men.
Previously, STARZPLAY has only been available as an add-on to Amazon Prime memberships through Amazon’s Prime Video Channels – a difficult sell of two payments that has limited its audience appeal and reach. Now, after launching on Apple TV and Virgin Media, STARZPLAY is finally opening up its streaming doors to anyone with a mobile device.
The STARZPLAY app allows up to four users to watch simultaneously and enjoy offline downloads of select shows and movies. App users can see personalised recommendations of shows and movies based on their viewing interests and select their preferred language for audio or captions. The premium pay TV streaming service is available through iPhone, iPad, as well as on a wide range of Android supported devices.
Starz CEO Jeffrey A. Hirsch says: “Expanding our direct-to-consumer product into the global arena with the launch of the STARZPLAY app gives subscribers seamless entry to our platform and premium content on their device of choice, while also providing us with access to key consumer data insights as we continue to position ourselves for success in the evolving content ecosystem.”
