Sky has renewed Brassic for a fifth season, ahead of the show’s return for a fourth season.
A massive hit with critics and viewers alike, Brassic is produced by Calamity Films and co-created by Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst, with Gilgun nominated for a BAFTA earlier this year for his performance as Vinnie.
Taking its title from being “broke, penniless, without means, boracic lint – skint, on the bones of yer arse”, the comedy series follows Vinnie, Dylan (Damien Molony) and Erin (Michelle Keegan), a group of working-class friends finding unconventional ways to win at life in northern suburbia.
The series co-stars Dominic West, Tom Hanson, Aaron Heffernan, Ryan Sampson, Parth Thakerar, Bronagh Gallagher, Joanna Higson and Steve Evets. They’ll be back in action next month, with Season 4 debuting on 7th September on Sky Max. It will see Vinnie (Gilgun) track down Erin (Keegan), who fled Hawley at the end of the last series to escape dangerous criminal Terence McCann. Among the scenes pictured are those of the gang causing mayhem at a murder mystery night, where Steve Pemberton (Inside Number 9, Doctor Who) makes a cameo appearance alongside the fancy dress-clad cast.
Before Brassic has even returned to our screens, though, Sky has already green-lit a fifth chapter, with filming on the next season set to start at the end of the month.
