Sky Q launches mobile app

Sky Q has launched a new mobile app, making it easier for customers to take their recordings wherever they go.
Sky Q was unveiled earlier this year as the broadcaster’s premium, next generation box, improving its visual quality, it’s interface and its ability to stream things on multiple devices simultaneously, as well as on the go. The mobile app is a key part of that on-demand, on-the-move offering. It means that Sky Q users can watch TV on their smartphones and – for the first time – will be able to access their downloaded recordings and browse Top Picks.
Specifically, the app will let users download recordings to their phone while still at home and then watch them offline while out and about. (Go to On My iPhone or On My Phone to find recordings downloaded before leaving the house.) At home, users can access Recordings on their phone from the Sky Q box. They can also manage recordings and downloads to the Sky Q box from their mobile, and, at home, use the app to find shows they didn’t manage to finish or the next episode in a series they’re watching.
Luke Bradley-Jones, Brand Director of TV and Content Products, comments: “We know Sky Q customers love the flexibility of watching TV on their terms. The new Sky Q mobile app will give them even more freedom to watch their recordings, access Top Picks, and stream live and On Demand TV when they’re out and about. So if it’s The Night Of box set, live Premier League or Sky original The Young Pope, Sky Q customers can now look forward to their daily commute or long car journey, while they catch up on the latest and best TV from Sky.”
