“We cover the night because that’s when the crazy stuff happens.” That’s one of the people featured in Netflix’s new documentary series, Shot in the Dark.
The show follows three rival freelance stringers, as they scour the streets at night to film crime scenes, fires, accidents – and anything else they can sell to news outlets.
Essentially Nightcrawler the TV series, the documentary presents the real life equivalent of Jake Gyllenhaal’s character in the award-nominated movie, as people wait around for bad things to happen, so they can capture it on camera and make money from the footage.
Promising awkward moral dilemmas and shocking situations, the documentary premiered on Netflix last month – and now, the streaming giant is giving it a belated promotional push with a new trailer giving a glimpse of what’s in store.
