Netflix’s Fuller House to end with Season 5
David Farnor | On 02, Feb 2019
Update: Season 5, Part 1 will premiere on Tuesday 2nd June 2020.
Fuller House will return for a fifth and final season this year, Netflix has confirmed.
The sequel/reboot/follow-up to the 1980s sitcom Full House has been a success for the streaming giant, with the stories of the extended Tanner-Fuller family running for multiple seasons since it first returned to our screens in 2016. It follows the lives of D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) and her sister, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), plus their friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), who all move in together after D.J.’s husband passes away – and find themselves looking after three boys, including the rebellious 12-year-old, Jackson (Michael Champion), neurotic 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr (Messitt Twins).
Created by Jeff Franklin, the series has seen a number of the show’s original stars appear on the programme, including Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin. Franklin, however, was ousted from the production last year, after complaints about inappropriate behaviour, leading to Steve Baldikoski and Bryan Behar being appointed as new showrunners for Season 4.
Season 5 has been confirmed just a few weeks after that run dropped, but it will also be the show’s last. A video teasing its farewell run was released yesterday, containing highlights from the seasons so far, with the promise that the best will be saved for last. Here’s the trailer:

Trailer: Fuller House Season 4 returns in time for Christmas
28th November 2018
It’s always open. That’s the motto for the Tanner-Fuller clan, as they return for another season of Fuller House. That’s the same policy Netflix has towards the rebooted sitcom, which first premiered back in 2016 and has since been renewed multiple times, past the point at which the show enjoyed its 30-year anniversary
Based on the US show of yore, it catches fans up with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure), recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother, Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter, Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas), all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old, Jackson (Michael Champion), neurotic 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr (Messitt Twins).
Now, after a third season split into two parts, the Tanner-Fuller family is back again, as Danny (Bob Saget), Joey (Dave Coulier), Jesse (John Stamos) and Rebecca (Lori Loughlin) all move back to San Francisco, while Kimmy (Andre Barber) deals with her own life-changing situation. Offering love, laughs, and (of course) hugs, Fuller House returns on Friday 14th December – just in time for family holiday viewing.

Netflix orders Season 4 of Fuller House
30th January 2018
Netflix has ordered a fourth season of Fuller House.
The sitcom reboot, based on the US show of yore, first premiered back in 2016, catching fans up with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure), recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother, Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter, Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas), all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old, Jackson (Michael Champion), neurotic 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr (Messitt Twins).
Now, after a third season split into two parts to mark the show’s anniversary, the Tanner-Fuller family is coming back again. The new run will see Danny (Bob Saget), Joey (Dave Coulier), Jesse (John Stamos) and Rebecca (Lori Loughlin) all move back to San Francisco, while Kimmy (Andre Barber) deals with her own life-changing situation.
The renewal was first announced by TVLine and comes just a month after the release of Season 3’s second half.
Fuller House Season 3 will return this December
15th November 2017
Fuller House Season 3 will return this December, Netflix has officially revealed.
The streaming giant’s reboot of the 1980s sitcom premiered in February 2016, catching fans up with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure), recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother, Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter, Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas), all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old, Jackson (Michael Champion), neurotic 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr (Messitt Twins).
The revival met with a decidedly lacklustre response here, but has fans in its home country, prompting Netflix to renew the show for a second and third season. The latest run, though, was split up into two seconds, so that it could premiere on Friday 22nd September – the same day the very first episode of the original Full House premiered 30 years ago.
Now, the cast of the show have announced that Part 2 of Season 3 will drop on Netflix on Friday 22nd December.

Trailer: Fuller House Season 3 gets the birthday party started
17th September 2017
“Some days it just hits me how amazing it is that we all still live together… what are the odds?” That’s the sound of Netflix’s reboot of a 30-year-old sitcom getting self-aware as it nears its three decade anniversary.
Yes, the third season of Fuller House returns to the streaming service on Friday 22nd September – the same day the very first episode of the original Full House premiered 30 years ago. And it’s all too apt for a nostalgia-steeped series.
“Reuniting nearly all the cast from the ABC series, the pilot of Fuller House lays down what audiences should expect from the series: this is a wink-filled, self-cannibalizing vehicle for nostalgia,” we wrote in our lukewarm review of the first season. “The ages, the circumstances and the backstory are xeroxed straight from the 1980s, so carefully orchestrated that the show seems to revel in the artificiality of its own existence. There is nothing new, fresh or innovative about this experiment and that is entirely the point.”
Bringing back the original cast for its anniversary special, the new season will be split into two halves to allow for the topical celebration: Part 2 of Season 3 will be released in December.
Here’s the new trailer for the show’s return:

Netflix celebrates Fuller House’s birthday with Season 3 September release
27th June 2017
Fuller House is coming back earlier than expected this year, but with good reason.
Netflix will debut the third season of its sitcom reboot on Friday 22nd September – the same day the very first episode of the original Full House premiered, three decades ago. Netflix’s decision to mark the show’s 30th anniversary is all too apt for a programme that is steeped in times gone by.
The September air date has been brought forward from the December release date of Season 2, and in order to do that, Netflix has split the new run into two halves: the first nine episodes will be released all-at-once on Friday 22nd September, with part two being released at a later date in December 2017.
Fuller House renewed for Season 3
27th December 2016
Fuller House will return for a third season, Netflix has announced.
The revival evidently proved popular, particularly in the USA, where the original sitcom aired: Netflix announced a second run of the show within a week of its premiere. Now, within a month of the second season, Netflix has again hit the “renew” button, with the official Fuller House Twitter account unveiled the news on Christmas Day.

The show’s continuation marks a growing trend among the company’s commissions for bringing back old shows from TV’s past, with January marking the premiere of a reboot of Norman Lear’s One Day a Time. On the bright side, that means we’re one step closer to the holy grail of the return of Saved by the Bell.
Netflix releases new trailer for Fuller House Season 2
1st November 2016
Netflix has released a new trailer for Fuller House Season 2.
The spin-off series, which brought back the Tanner-Fuller-Gibbler family last year to mixed reviews, was renewed earlier this year.
In Season 2, D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) finds herself living in her childhood home with younger sister and aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and DJ’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber). The women reuniting to help support one another navigate careers, parenting and relationships with the kind of love and humor you can only get from the people you grew up with. The Tanner childhood house is fuller than ever though with not only DJ’s three boys — the awkward 13-year-old Jackson, neurotic 7-year-old Max and baby Tommy Jr. — but also Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona and Kimmy’s not so estranged ex-husband Fernando all under the same roof.
All episodes of the show’s second run will be released on Friday 9th December 2016. Here’s the new video:
Fuller House Season 2 gets December release date
22nd September
Fuller House Season 2 will be arriving on Netflix just in time for family viewing at Christmas.
The spin-off reboot of the 1980s sitcom was renewed earlier this year, following the premiere of Season 1. The revival continues the story of veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron-Bure) recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old Jackson, neurotic 7-year-old Max and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr.

Netflix renews Fuller House for Season 2
2nd March 2016
Netflix has renewed Fuller House for a second season.
The revival of the 1980s sitcom premiered last week on the streaming site, a move that was unexpected for the VOD giant, but marks a growing trend among the company’s commissions for bringing back old shows from TV’s past.
The series reboots the comedy, as we catch up with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure), recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother, Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter, Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas), all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old, Jackson (Michael Champion), neurotic 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr (Messitt Twins).
The revival spans 13 episodes and is produced by Miller-Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television for Netflix. Robert L. Boyett, Thomas L. Miller and Jeff Franklin are the executive producers of the series, which was created by Franklin.
“Reuniting nearly all the cast from the ABC series, the pilot of Fuller House lays down what audiences should expect from the series: this is a wink-filled, self-cannibalizing vehicle for nostalgia,” we wrote in our review. “The ages, the circumstances and the backstory are xeroxed straight from the 1980s, so carefully orchestrated that the show seems to revel in the artificiality of its own existence. There is nothing new, fresh or innovative about this experiment and that is entirely the point.”
The show has evidently found the audience Netflix was seeking, though, with the announcement of Fuller House’s second season coming within a week of the series’ premiere.
