Good news, Windows 10 device owners: the Roku app is now available.
The app, designed for Windows 10 laptops and tablets, allows users to control their Roku streaming device in the living room directly from their computer. Navigating more than 2,000 channels and 100,000 movies and TV episodes, the Roku app supports gesture navigation as well as point-and-click interaction, which means that users can browse lists by swiping to bring the next page of content to the front.
The app comes with a revamped homepage to provide quick access to the “My Channels” list. In addition to the classic remote, Roku has included the complete “My Channels” list to the app’s interface to help users quickly move from channel to channel, regardless of where they are in the Roku platform.
The Roku app for Windows 10 is a universal Windows app, which means it features Cortana support as well – good news for those who use Roku Search, which allows users to speak as well as type the name of a TV show, film, actor or director and see the results on channels such as Amazon Video, NOW, Netflix and Google Play, by typing of saying the name of TV show, film, actor or director.
The app also supports Roku’s “Play on Roku” feature, which lets users show off photos and music on the telly through the Roku device by selecting the desired folder or file within the app.
The Roku app for Windows 10 laptops and tablets is available to download in the UK now via the Windows app store.
