Trailer: Rocko’s Modern Life returns on Netflix this August

Rocko’s Modern Life is returning to our screens this August, Netflix has confirmed.
Created by Joe Murray, the Nickelodeon cartoon was a staple of TV for 90s kids. It charts the frustrated, and often downright odd, experiences a Rocko, a wallaby who moves from his native Australia to the United States but finds thing not as he expected. It was only fitting, then, that when Nickelodeon revealed a reboot was on the way in the form of a film, it would see Rocko – and friends Heffer and Filburt – jump into the modern day from several decades ago, only to be bewildered by the ultra-modern life he encounters.
Now, several years after that news, Nickelodeon has announced that the movie is coming to Netflix, as part of Viacom’s relationship with the streaming giant. Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling sees Rocko, after 20 years in space, return to a technologically advanced O-Town and makes it his mission to get his favourite show (now cancelled) back on the air.
Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling arrives 9th August on Netflix worldwide. Here’s the trailer released by Netflix that confirms the release date:

Here’s a sentence you never expected to hear in 2019: Rocko’s Modern Life is coming to Netflix.
Now, two years after that news, Nickelodeon has announced that the movie is coming to Netflix. Viacom CEO Bob Bakish confirmed the news in an earnings call last week, Nickelodeon blog NickALive spotted.
Nickelodeon has also sold its movie revival of Invader Zim to Netflix. A trailer for Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus dropped at San Diego Comic-Con last year, again written by the show’s original creator. The film sees Zim, the alien with plans of world domination, realise that the leaders of his planet, Irk, have no intention to join him.
Exact dates for the release of the two movies aren’t known yet, but you can expect them likely in the coming year near school holiday season. Until then, here are the trailers:
