Regina Hall heads to Amazon for occult movie Master

Regina Hall is heading to Amazon Studios for Master, a new occult movie.
The Girls Trip and Support the Girls star has started to move behind the camera in recent years, producing the comedy Little. She’ll be exec-producing this new film, which is written and directed by Mariama Diallo. Diallo, who caught the world’s attention with the Sundance-winning short Hair Wolf and has gone on to direct HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness, will be making her feature directorial debut.
The film follows two African-American women at Ancaster, a liberal arts college in Boston Massachusetts, where the student body are predominantly white. The Master of the students. Gail Bishop, and a freshman begin to experience spooky activities ingrained in the college’s history.
Hall will play Gail, a queer, black master at Belleville house, who must deal with instances of racism as well as the supernatural events. The project follows Hall’s notable turn in the Shaft reboot/sequel, which premiered on Netflix outside of the USA. She will soon be seen in Season 2 of Showtime comedy Black Monday.
Other producers include Andrea Roa, Brad Becker-Parton and Josh Astrachan of the Animal Kingdom label.
Production will begin early next year.
