Trailer: Reacher returns for Season 2 in December

Reacher will return to Amazon Prime Video in December, and a new trailer gives us a first look at Season 2.
Based on the bestselling books by Lee Child, the series has commanded a Jack Reacher-sized global audience, quickly becoming one of the top five most-watched original seasons ever in the USA and globally on Prime Video during its inaugural run.
Season 2 begins when veteran military police investigator Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) receives a coded message that the members of his former US Army unit, the 110th MP Special Investigations, are being mysteriously and brutally murdered one by one. Pulled from his drifter lifestyle, Reacher reunites with three of his former teammates turned chosen family to investigate, including Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan), a forensic accountant for whom Reacher has long had a soft spot, and fast-talking, switchblade-wielding family man David O’Donnell (Shaun Sipos). Together, they begin to connect the dots in a mystery where the stakes get higher at every turn, and that brings about questions of who has betrayed them – and who will die next.
Using his inimitable blend of smarts and size, Reacher will stop at nothing to uncover the truth and protect the members of his unit. If there’s one thing Reacher and his team know for certain, it’s that you do not mess with the Special Investigators.
Based on Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th book in Lee Child’s global best-selling series, Reacher stars Alan Ritchson in the title role of Jack Reacher, with Maria Sten, Serinda Swan, and Shaun Sipos as key members of the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit. Rounding out the cast are Ferdinand Kingsley as AM, a mercenary that homeland security refers to as a “ghost”, Robert Patrick as Shane Langston, head of security for a private defense contractor with a questionable track record, and Domenick Lombardozzi as tough NYPD detective Guy Russo.
You can see them in action on 15th December, when the first three episodes debut on Amazon Prime Video – followed by weekly episodes until the finale on 19th January 2024.
Reacher renewed for Season 2
9th February 2022
Amazon has already renewed Reach for a second season, just a couple of days after its debut.
Based on the novels by Lee Child, who is an executive producer on the series, Reacher stars Alan Ritchson (Titans, Smallville) as veteran military police investigator Jack Reacher. Season 1, based on Child’s first Jack Reacher novel, Killing Floor, follows Reacher as he has just entered civilian life. A drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials, he travels the country and explores the nation he once served. When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years. The cops immediately arrest him and eyewitnesses claim to place Reacher at the scene of the crime. While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.
Ritchison is joined in Season 1 by Malcolm Goodwin (iZombie) as Oscar Finlay, Willa Fitzgerald (The Goldfinch) as Roscoe Conklin, Chris Webster (Most Dangerous Game) as KJ, Hugh Thompson (Blessed Stranger: After Flight 111) as Baker, Maria Sten (Swamp Thing) as Frances Neagley, Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) as Jasper, Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) as Charlie, Currie Graham (Murder in the First) as Kliner Sr., Marc Bendavid (Dark Matter) as Hubble, Willie C. Carpenter (Devious Maids) as Mosley, Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space) as Young Reacher, and Bruce McGill (My Cousin Vinny) as Mayor Teale.
The series is written by Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break), who also executive produces and serves as showrunner.
“Alan Ritchison is perfectly cast as Jack Reacher in this rock-solid adaptation of Lee Child’s novel,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
Since the show’s premiere on 4th February, Reacher has ranked among Prime Video’s five most-watched series ever in the USA and globally, making it one of the most-binged Amazon Original series to date.
“The phenomenal debut of Reacher is a testament to Lee Child’s creation of one of entertainment’s most well-known heroes, Nick Santora’s original approach to the storytelling, Alan’s brilliant embodiment of the character, and the dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera to make such an undeniably bingeworthy series,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios. “The global impact of Reacher makes it one of Prime Video’s biggest series debuts, and we can’t wait to bring fans a second season of their new favorite show.”
“The entire Reacher team—cast, production, writers, etc.—is so happy with the wonderful reception the show has received,” said Santora. “Amazon, Skydance, and Paramount have been such fantastic partners and everyone is excited to roll up their sleeves and get to work on what will be a great Season 2.”
Childs added: “This is very exciting news, and I can’t wait to get started. Reacher couldn’t be in better hands.”
