From Quiz to White House Farm: ITV Hub brings back box sets for summer binge-watching

ITV Hub is bringing back a collection of old box sets for binge-watching this summer.
The broadcaster’s catch-up platform has faced a tricky challenge in the past year, as it throws its support behind the fledgling subscription platform BritBox, but also needs to retain viewers so that it’s also a streaming destination in its own right. While BBC iPlayer has expanded its window of availability where possible before shows go to BritBox or elsewhere, ITV Hub has, if anything, reduced its windows so that BritBox has more exclusives and newer programmes.
Now, ITV Hub is rebalancing that share of TV shows to keep its 30 million registered users entertained, bringing back a host of box sets that proved hits in the past year.
White House Farm (read our review here), Quiz (read our review here) and Flesh and Blood (read our review here) are all now available to stream again, as well as Season 2 of Liar and Bancroft. Meanwhile, reality fans can enjoy a second fix of the 2020 series of Love Island, Sam & Billie: The Mummy Diaries, The Real Housewives of Cheshire, Gemma Collins: Diva on Lockdown, Ibiza Weekender and last year’s season of The Only Way Is Essex.
Documentaries also returning include Breaking Dad, Harry on Sandbanks, Gordon, Gino and Fred: American Road Trip and Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai.
The move follows ITV Hub’s highly successful move to replace Euro 96 during the gap when Premier League football was suspended, as well as the addition of Classic Coronation Street and Classic Emmerdale to the platform to make up for the delay in producing new episodes of the soap operas.
Steve Forde, Director of Digital Products, ITV said: “As more and more of our audiences look to the ITV Hub to watch ITV programming, we’re continuing our transformation of the platform by expanding our programming catalogue over the summer to ensure we give our viewers the opportunity to binge on the best drama, factual and reality shows from 2020.”
