Mr Bates, Mr Loverman lead 2025 BAFTA TV winners
David Farnor | On 12, May 2025
The 2025 BAFTA TV awards took place last night, and Mr Bates and Mr Loverman were the two big winners.
In an evening that spread the prizes around, expected contenders such as Baby Reindeer and Rivals didn’t sweep the board. Instead, it was Mr Loverman that emerged as the biggest success story, with Lennie James taking home Best Actor and Ariyon Bakare taking home Supporting Actor.
Mr Bates vs the Post Office won the Limited Drama prize, although it didn’t take home any acting awards, while BBC’s Blue Lights bear Sherwood, Supacell and the return of Wolf Hall to be named Best Drama. Alma’s Not Normal won Best Scripted Comedy for its final season, while Shogun was named Best International Series.
In the actress categories, Marisa Abela was recognised as the Best Actress for Industry, while Jessica Gunning’s now-iconic turn in Baby Reindeer earned her Supporting Actress.
