Pretty Little Liars spin-off Ravenswood has been added to BBC iPlayer for the new year.
The series follows five strangers whose lives become intertwined due to a deadly curse that has plagued their town for generations. It begins with Miranda and Caleb finding tombstones with their names on them, while Caleb meets Remy, who helps him investigate, and siblings Olivia and Luke, who recently lost their father under mysterious circumstances.
Created by I Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick and Joseph Dougherty and starring Nicole Gale Anderson, Steven Cabral and Brett Dier, the series sees Tyler Blackburn reprise his role as Caleb from Pretty Little Liars, with guest appearances from fellow Pretty Little Liars veterans Meg Foster as Carla and Ashley Benson as Hanna.
The show first premiered in 2013 on ABC in the US, but was cancelled after one season due to low ratings. Now, it’s joining both the original seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars and another spin-off, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, on BBC iPlayer, following a deal by the BBC in 2020. All three are now available to stream.

Pretty Little Liars is heading to BBC iPlayer for the new year – including The Perfectionists.
The hit teen drama ran for seven seasons from 2010 and has become a cult classic. The mystery thriller is based on the best-selling book series written by Sara Shepherd with the television series developed and executive produced by I Marlene King.
Set in the fictional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, it follows the lives of four girls whose friendship falls apart following the disappearance of the group’s leader Alison DiLaurentis (played by Sasha Pieterse). A year after she disappeared, the estranged friends, Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) and Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario), begin receiving messages from ‘A’ who threatens to unearth some of their deepest secrets.
All seasons will also arrive on BBC iPlayer on New Years Day, having previously been available on Netflix UK before it departed in April 2020.
The show will be joined by The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which will also be released on New Year’s Day on BBC iPlayer. The first time since 2004 that the hit 90s comedy has been on the BBC, all 148 episodes from six seasons will be available to binge.
It will be followed by Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, a single season spin-off that features the return of Alison DiLaurentis (again played by Sasha Pieterse). This time the story is centred around a murder in the college town of Beacon Heights where on the surface everything seems perfect – from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.
This will be the first time that Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists has been available to stream in the UK. Update: The Perfectionists will be available on BBC iPlayer from Saturday 16th January 2021.
Pretty Little Liars is available on BBC iPlayer until January 2022.
