Lili Reinhart will star in Plus/Minus, the new film from Wanuri Kahiu.
Kahiu made a splash in 2018 with her sophomore feature Rafiki, which was nominated for both the Queer Palm and Un Certain Regard prizes at Cannes. Now, she’s headed to Netflix for her latest.
Written by April Prosser and produced by Screen Arcade’s Bryan Unkeless and Eric Newman, along with CatchLight Studios’ Jessica Malanaphy, the film follows Natalie, a young woman on the eve of her college graduation. Her life diverges into two parallel realities: one in which she becomes pregnant and must navigate motherhood as a young adult in her Texas hometown, the other in which she moves to LA to pursue her career. In both journeys throughout her twenties, Natalie experiences life-changing love, devastating heartbreak and rediscovers herself.
Lili Reinhart, who most recently starred in Hustlers and Chemical Hearts, will play the lead role. She is no stranger to Netflix UK audiences, having played Betty Cooper in The CW’s teen drama Riverdale.
Reinhart will also serve as an exec-producer, alongside Alyssa Rodrigues for Screen Arcade.
