NOW has released the first episode of Yonderland for free on YouTube.
The family series, created, written by and starring Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond (with puppets by Baker Coogan), won hearts when it premiered last year on Sky 1.
It follows the adventures of mum Debbie Maddox (Martha Howe-Douglas), who discovers that she is The Chosen One of the titular fantasy world, destined to help save its inhabitats – including Elf and Nick the Stick – from try-hard overlord Negatus.
Now, as the show returns to Sky 1 this July for a second season, you can get in the mood by watching Episode 1 in full – the first time that NOW has released a full episode of a programme on YouTube.
We described the show in our reviews as “simply sublime, wonderful entertainment” with the ability to be “both family friendly and enjoyably edgy without alienating either audience”.
Season 2 promises “many more magical treats of silliness” and will see Debbie fighting an increasingly hard battle to keep her family life and her job as world saver separate.
The episode is available to watch on YouTube until 28th July.
Already seen Episode 1? To catch up with the whole of the first season, non-Sky customers can watch Yonderland on NOW with an Entertainment Membership. The pass, which costs £6.99 a month, allows you to stream Sky 1 and other channels live and on-demand without a contract.
