NOW TV offers free Sports Day Pass to Ashes fans

NOW is offering a free Sports Day Pass to cricket fans ahead of The Ashes.
A Day Pass allows non-Sky customers to stream any Sky Sports channel leave for – you guessed it – a day, without a contract. It is one of three ways to stream Sky Sports through the VOD service: a week’s pass costs £10.99, while a month’s pass costs £31.99.
Sports fans may balk at the price, but the monthly pass remains cheaper than the amount normal Sky customers have to pay: at the time of writing, a Sky Sports bundle costs £45.50 a month for new customers, with a minimum contract of 12 months.
Now, though, NOW is giving away one day’s access to keep up with the first day of the Ashes, which kicks off on Wednesday 8th July.
Off the back of a series against New Zealand, England will be doing everything they can against Australia to regain the Ashes. To mark the tournament, Sky has created a dedicated channel, Sky Sports Ashes, which will ensure viewers can follow every ball live from the men’s and women’s series this summer.
Gidon Katz, Director of NOW, comments: “We know premium live sport is one of the main reasons that our customers choose NOW. I’m bowled over that we’re able to give sport fans the chance to watch day one of the first Ashes Test for free. I am sure there will be plenty of people joining me in secretly tuning in at work!”
Indeed, NOW has just commissioned a new study that found that nearly half of British sports fans have put their work to one side and tuned into live sport on their portable screens. Over a quarter (27 per cent) admitted to watching sport in secret, by either booking covert meeting rooms to keep up with the latest score, using their second screens for streaming or taking slightly longer in the bathroom.
NOW viewers will be able to watch both on their TVs at home and on their phones and tablets when they are out and about.
Fans can get their free Sky Sports Day Pass for the first Test held at the SWALEC Stadium, Cardiff, by visiting www.nowtv.com/ashes and using the code “NOWTVASHES”. The offer ends at 23.59pm on Wednesday 8th July.
