Netflix orders Satyajit Ray anthology

Netflix is bringing Satyajit Ray’s short stories to the screen in a new anthology series.
A revolutionary film maker, an auteur, and the creator of the iconic Feluda series, Ray is a legend of Indian cinema and also celebrated for his short stories. Vastly varying in genre and style, these stories are full of thrills, twists and turns with a strong emotional core. Now, Netflix is bringing four of them to the screen in the year that marks the centenary of his birth.
Simply called Ray, the anthology is written by Niren Bhatt and Siraj Ahmed, with directors including Srijit Mukherji, Vasan Bala and Abhishek Chaubey. It stars Manoj Bajpayee, Gajraj Rao, Ali Fazal, Shweta Basu Prasad, Anindita Bose, Kay Kay Menon, Bidita Bag, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor.
Produced by Viacom 18’s Tipping Point, with Sayantan Mukherjee serving as showrunner, the series will premiere on Netflix on 25th June. Here’s a trailer:
