Netflix is now available on NOW boxes and streaming sticks.

From today, the Netflix app has finally launched on NOW streaming devices, a major step that puts the VOD service’s hardware on a more even footing with rival hardware. NOW’s decision to launch its own branded boxes and sticks echoes that of Amazon with its Fire TV devices, with NOW’s Roku-powered hardware boasting an impressively cheap price. However, NOW has long had a disadvantage in the heated race to smart-en up living rooms, because Netflix has been missing from its line-up of apps.

Now, though, a new deal between Netflix and Sky has made that problem a thing of the past, with the subscription streaming service joining NOW’s wide array of other apps, including all the major UK TV catch-up platforms (BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and Demand 5) plus UKTV Play, Red Bull TV, Sky Store, YouTube and Vevo.

NOW has also unveiled its most powerful ever streaming device – the NOW Smart Box with 4K & Voice Search. Available now, the Roku-powered box offers 4K Ultra HD streaming at up to 60fps, with HDR delivering true to life colours and outstanding clarity – perfect for those with a Premium Netflix account who fancy a night in watching Orange is the New Black or GLOW in 4K.

Voice Search also comes with the new NOW Smart Box so you can quickly find your favourite shows, films, actors, directors and apps. Plus Live Pause technology ensures you don’t miss any of the action on NOW’s premium live channels including Sky Sports, FOX, Comedy Central and Sky Atlantic.

Priced at £45.99, the NOW Smart Box with 4K & Voice Search is the lowest priced 4K streaming device in the UK and is available from nowtv.com. It will also be available bundled with a month’s Entertainment, Sky Cinema, Kids and Sky Sports Day Pass for just £49.99 from major retailers, including Argos and Currys PCWorld.
