Netflix names 6th November Stranger Things Day

Where were you 35 years ago today? That’s the question everyone’s asking themselves today. Well, everyone except Will Byers and his close friends and family. Because on 6th November 1983, we all know where he was: missing. And his disappearance opened the eyes of Hawkins, Indiana, to the Upside Down and the demagorgon (and other gribllies) that were waiting to enter our world from their own.
35 years later, Netflix is trying to make Stranger Things Day a thing, inviting the world to take 24 housr to remember how Stranger Things began all those years ago. After all, it’s not as if Season 3 is coming this autumn: we’re having to wait until next year for the show’s eventual return. What #StrangerThingsDay does mean, though, is a host of amusing new videos, from Netflix’s initial video trying to make the annual occasion happen (see above) to a fun bit of silliness released from the set of Season 3.

So how can you celebrate Stranger Things Day?
1. Get the lights out of storage
2. Stock up on eggos
3. Put up posters
4. Dress up in the official costume
5. Watch the first Stranger Things 3 teaser and endlessly speculate about what might happen
5. Dance the night away (Hopper style)
And, after all that, of course, you can rewatch all of Stranger Things on Netflix. You can ready our reviews of Season 1 and 2 here – or head this way to see our guide to all the retro nerdy references you missed the first time around.
