Netflix heads to Belgium this May for new narcotics thriller Undercover.
The 10-part crime drama is inspired by real life events and follows one of the largest ecstasy producers in the world, Ferry Bouman, who lives a charmed life in his villa on the Dutch-Belgian border. But things start to change when two undercover agents move into his territory, attempt to infiltrate Bouman’s life and shut down his network.
Undercover is produced by Jan Theys (Salamander), with Nico Moolenaar (Vermist) on board as writer and showrunner. It will be helmed by Eshref Reybrouck, director of recent hit series Cordon, which aired in the UK on BBC iPlayer, and Frank Devos (Chaussée D’amour). The series stars Anna Drijver,(Komt een vrouw bij de dokter, Bride Flight, Loft), Frank Lammers (Zwartboek, Michiel de Ruyter, Rundskop), Elise Schaap (Valentino, Ja, ik wil! Familie Kruys), Tom Waes (Nieuw Texas, Tegen de sterren op), Kevin Janssens (The Ardennes, Vermist) and Huub Smit (New Kids, Riphagen & Bro’s Before Ho’s).
The eries, which marks Netflix’s first Belgian/Dutch co-production, premieres on 3rd May. Here’s a trailer:

Netflix is going Undercover in Belgium for its latest original series.
The show, which marks the streaming giant’s first Belgian/Dutch co-production, is 10-part fictional crime drama inspired by real life events.
It follows one of the largest ecstasy producers in the world, Ferry Bouman, who lives a charmed life in his villa on the Dutch-Belgian border. But things start to change when two undercover agents move into his territory, attempt to infiltrate Bouman’s life and shut down his network.

Netflix is partnering with production company De Mensen (Blockx, The Dare, Hotel Beau Sejour), Dutch Filmworks and VRT to premiere Undercover to Netflix members globally, except for France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland where Netflix will be following local broadcasters. De Mensen is an award-winning Flemish production company, and, together with Skyline Entertainment, Les Gens, Gardner and Domm and the Virus, is the biggest independent production group in Belgium. De Mensen has been producing Scripted (lead by Pieter Van Huyck) and Non Scripted TV shows across a variety of genres since 2001, including Professor T and Salamander.

Undercover will premiere in 2019.
