Netflix doubles down on Sundance documentaries

Netflix has been on a Sundance shopping spree, snapping up the rights to two documentaries that debuted at the festival.
Skywalkers: A Love Story is directed by Jeff Zimbalist and Maria Bukhonina, who both produce for All Rise Films, alongside Chris Smith (Library Films) and XYZ’s Head of Documentary Tamir Ardon (XYZ Films)
It follows a daredevil couple who, to save their career and relationship, journey across the globe to climb the world’s last super skyscraper and perform a bold acrobatic stunt on the spire.
Daughters is directed by Angela Patton and Natalie Rae.
It is produced by Lisa Mazzotta, Natalie Rae, Justin Benoliel, Mindy Goldberg, Sam Bisbee, Kathryn Everett, Laura Choi Raycroft and James Cunningham, with executive producers including Kerry Washington, Pilar Savone, Angela Patton, Joel Edgerton, Jessica Seinfeld, Hallee Adelman, Lydia Kives, JM Harper, Lance Acord, Jackie Kelman Bisbee, Wendy Neu, Dom Thomas, Morgan Clement, Jessica Taneja, Bryn Mooser, Shane Riley, Harland Weiss, Donovan M Boden, Isil Gilderdale and Emily Harris.
It follows four young girls as they prepare for a special Daddy Daughter Dance with their incarcerated fathers, as part of a unique fatherhood program in a Washington, DC, jail.
