Park Chan-wook’s Decision to Leave will be released by MUBI this October.
The streaming company, which has been stepping up its distribution of titles theatrically as well as online, snapped up Decision to Leave ahead of its debut at Cannes this year. The film, which took home the Best Director prize, follows a detective investigating the death of a man who falls fatally from a mountain peak. Hae-joon (Park Hae-il) comes to meet the dead man’s wife Seo-rae (Tang Wei). When she becomes a suspect, Hae-joon finds himself slowly developing an interest in her.
“Park Chan-wook’s psycho-romance is the South Korean master’s most mature work to date,” we wrote in our review.
The film will be released in cinemas by MUBI in the UK, Ireland and USA on 14th October, before going on to stream exclusively on MUBI later this year.
