Mr. Robot will return to UK TV screens this October for Season 3 – and a new trailer gives us a first look at the programme.
The show, which is created by Sam Esmail, stars Rami Malek as Elliot, a cyber-security engineer, and Christian Slater as Mr. Robot, a mysterious figure who start a revolution to change the world. Alongside Malek and Slater are co-stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer, Bobby Cannavale, BD Wong, and Stephanie Corneliussen, in an increasingly complex web of those caught up and impacted by Mr. Robot’s underground hacker group fSociety.
In Season 2, Malek and Slater returned with the rest of the cast to chart the events of fsociety’s five/nine hack on the multi-national company Evil Corp.
Picking up immediately following Season 2’s cliffhanger, Season 3 will delve into each character’s motivations and explore the disintegrating relationship between Elliott and Mr. Robot. Bobby Cannavale will join them as Irving, a laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman. Recurring guest star BD Wong has also been upped to a series regular for his role as Whiterose, the leader of the Dark Army, a Chinese-based hacking organisation.
Season 3 will premiere on 12th October on Amazon Prime Video in the UK, with new episodes arriving weekly, within 24 hours of their US broadcast. Here’s the trailer for the third run – which, be warned, will spoil Season 1 and 2 of the programme, if you haven’t seen those yet. (You can catch up with both on Amazon Prime Video – and read our reviews here.)

Mr. Robot Season 3 adds Bobby Cannavale ahead of October release
14th March 2017
Fans hoping to catch Mr. Robot in its usual summer slot will be disappointed this year, as USA Network has announced that Season 3 will premiere several months later in October. Good news that should keep viewers happy, though, is that the series has added Bobby Cannavale to its cast.
USA Network and Universal Cable Productions announced the series’ return at the weekend, with series creator Sam Esmail set to direct all 10 episodes of the programme once again.
“Sam Esmail is a true creative visionary who continues to deliver a series that boldly tackles timely issues and leans into the major headlines of the day,” says Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “We’re eager to share the next phase of Elliot’s journey with fans this fall.”
Picking up immediately following Season 2’s cliffhanger, Season 3 will delve into each character’s motivations and explore the disintegration between Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) and Mr. Robot (Christian Slater).
They, if you’ve new to the show, are a cyber-security engineer and a mysterious figure who start a revolution to change the world. Alongside Malek and Slater are co-stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer, Bobby Cannavale, BD Wong, and Stephanie Corneliussen.
Two-time Emmy winner Cannavale will join them as Irving, a “laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman”. Recurring guest star BD Wong has also been upped to a series regular for his role as Whiterose, the leader of the Dark Army, a Chinese-based hacking organisation.
“Season 2 of Mr. Robot will engage viewers in a whole new way with Sam Esmail and team continuing to find ways to surprise, challenge and delight the audience. And adding Bobby Cannavale and BD Wong to our cast makes one of the tightest acting ensembles even stronger,” said Jeff Wachtel, Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.
Production on Season 3 begins this April in New York City.
The show is available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in the UK, with episodes premiering every week within 24 hours of their US broadcast. Not caught up on Season 1 and 2? You can stream them both through Amazon Prime Video, as part of a £5.99 monthly subscription.
