Millie Bobby Brown is sticking with Netflix for her next project, the fantasy film Damsel.
Brown became a household name when she starred in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. She has since earned two Emmy nominations for her role in the sci-fi horror and went on to star in Enola Holmes for the streamer. Based on Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries books, the playful Sherlock-adjacent tale premiered in September and become one of the most popular titles on the service at the time.
She will soon appear in Warner Bros sequel Godzilla vs Kong, reprising her role from Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but is building serious momentum back at Netflix, producing projects as well as starring in them. She is set to star in, and produce, an adaptation of Tess Sharpe’s thriller The Girls I’ve Been for the service, and also has a story called A Time Lost in development at Netflix, along with her sister, Paige Brown.
Damsel will see Brown again active in front and behind the camera, exec-producing as well as starring the fantasy tale. The film will be directed by 28 Weeks Later helmer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and written by Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans). Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum will produce and joining Brown as EPs will be Mazeau, Zack Roth and Chris Castaldi.
Brown will play Elodie, a princess who thinks she is marrying Prince Henry only to discover that she is actually being sacrificed to a dragon.
