Netflix has released a string of new videos introducing the characters at the heart of its new original series, Sense8.

The sci-fi, which is released on Netflix a week today, is created by The Wachowskis and follows eight “Sensates” around the world, who are brought together after experiencing a violent vision and are able to see, feel, hear and talk to each other as if they are in the same place.

Not only must these eight adapt to this new ability and to each other, they must figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, while being hunted by an organisation out to capture, kill or vivisect them.

The series has a global cast to go with its international production. Here’s a taste of that planet-hopping line-up.

The rest of the cast includes Jonas (Naveen Andrews), the determined and inscrutable man who tries to bring the Sensates together, Doctor Who’s Freema Agyeman, and Daryl Hannah as “an otherworldly figure named Angel. For more information – and lots of stills, head this way.
