Kidnapping: Ben Affleck, Matt Damon team up for Netflix film

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are reuniting for a bit of Kidnapping – and Netflix has already snapped up the thriller.
The two friends have been collaborating as far back as 1997, when they co-starred in and co-wrote Good Will Hunting, winning an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. They recently reteamed in front of the camera in 2021’s The Last Duel, while last year, Damon starred in the Michael Jordan and Nike trainer-inspired Air, which was directed by Affleck.
Now, they’re set to do the same again, with Affleck directing Damon in Kidnapping. Written by Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray, the thriller will be produced by Affleck, Damon and Dani Bernfeld of Artists Equity, the artist-led studio founded by Affleck, Damon and Gerry Cardinale/RedBird Capital Partners — and Brad Weston and Collin Creighton of MAKEREADY, who developed the project in partnership with FIFTH SEASON.
Artists Equity’s Michael Joe and Kevin Halloran will serve as executive producers alongside FIFTH SEASON.
Although little is publicly known about the plot, with Amazon enjoying a sizeable box office hit with Air last year, it’s perhaps no surprise that Netflix has quickly pounced on the rights to the movie.
