Veronica Mars Season 4 finds UK TV home on STARZPLAY

Veronica Mars Season 4 officially has a UK TV home and release date, as STARZPLAY has snapped up the rights to the show’s revival.
The new season is once again created and executive produced by Rob Thomas and sees Bell reprise her title role as the detective. She will be joined by familiar faces from the original show, including Enrico Colantoni as her father, Keith Mars, Percy Daggs as her best friend, Wallace, Francis Capra as former biker Weevil, Ryan Hansen as the wealthy Dick Casablancas, and Jason Dohring as long-time love interest Logan Echolls.
Logan and Veronica being reunited, as he returns home for extended leave from the Navy, is just one of the reasons fans will tune in, as there’s a mystery afoot too. Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.
New cast members joining the season include Dreamgirls’ Dawnn Lewis as police chief Marcia Langdon, Orange is the New Black’s Tyler Alvarez as biker Juan-Diego De La Cruz, and Patton Oswalt as a true crime fanatic. J.K. Simmons will also appear as Clyde Prickett, an ex-convict-turned-fixer for a local real estate developer.
The season will arrive this March, courtesy of STARZPLAY, the premium subscription service from STARZ. The platform, which costs £4.99 a month, is available on Prime Video Channels and Virgin Media, as well as through apps on Apple TV, iOS and Android. It joins other shows such as Counterpart, Perpetual Grace Ltd, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Harlots, Mr Mercedes, Castle Rock and all future series and spin-offs set within the Power universe.
Veronica Mars Season 4 will debut all at once on 27th March. Read on below for the trailer.

Hulu drops first full trailer for Veronica Mars revival
18th June 2019
Veronica Mars returns to US screens this summer, and a new trailer gives us our first proper look at the show’s revival.
This is not the first time that Veronica has staged a comeback: the series, which stars Kristen Bell as a college student-turned-sleuth, ran for three seasons on UPN and The CW, before it was cancelled. Then, Bell and creator Rob Thomas launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce a feature film continuing the show. The crowdfunding campaign was a huge success, hitting its $2 billion target in under 11 hours. The movie was released in 2014.
Last year, Hulu announced that it was bringing Veronica Mars back once again, with a new series of eight episodes. The new, fourth run will see Bell reprise her title role as the detective.
The new trailer gives us a look at Logan and Veronica being reunited after some time apart, as he returns home for extended leave from the Navy. But before they can off-again-on-again all over again, there are more serious things afoot, and a case to crack.
“Mystery. Parties. Scandal. Corruption. Season 4’s gonna be the most explosive one yet,” Bell commented on Instagram.
The new season, as ever, is created and executive produced by Rob Thomas, with Bell exec-producing alongside Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Dan Etheridge.
New cast members joining the season include Dreamgirls’ Dawnn Lewis as police chief Marcia Langdon, Orange is the New Black’s Tyler Alvarez as biker Juan-Diego De La Cruz, and Patton Oswalt as a true crime fanatic. Whiplash’s J.K. Simmons will also appear as Clyde Prickett, an ex-convict-turned-fixer for a local real estate developer.
Veronica Mars Season 4 premieres on Hulu on 26th July in the USA. There is no word yet on a UK TV home for the revived series, but with Veronica’s return only weeks away, watch this space for some news soon. Until then, here’ the trailer:
