“Happy hunting,” says Saul to Carrie in the Homeland Season 4 trailer, which has just been released.

Happy? When has anyone in Homeland been properly, truly happy? And when has that been Saul or Carrie?

The prospect of a brand new story, free from all the emotional Brody baggage that has weighed down the show (and its characters) for several years, was always an enticing one. Judging by the tone of this first look at Season 4 – with what could be a step towards new opening credits – Carrie and Saul are making themselves well at home in their new location and narrative. Bring it on.

Homeland Season 4 premieres in the US on Sunday 5th October. Expect it in the UK shortly after. Until then, you can catch up Homeland Season 3 on iTunes.
