Hoff the Record returns for Season 2 this May

Hoff The Record will return this May for a second season.
Dave’s sitcom, which follows the struggle of The Hoff (David Hasselhoff) as he attempts an Alan Partridge-style bounce-back, provided an unlikely success last year, thanks to its hilarious ensemble cast. Alongside Hoff, playing himself, returning faces for the new run include his terrible manager, Max (Fergus Craig), his overqualified and unimpressed PA, Harriet (Ella Craig), his illegitimate lovechild, Dieter (Mark Quartley), plus personal trainer Danny (Brett Goldstein) and inappropriate driver Terry (People Just Do Nothing’s Asim Chaudhry).
The show’s return sees it join a growing stable of Dave originals, which include Crackanory, Ross Noble Freewheeling, Dave Gorman’s Modern Life is Goodish, and Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled.
Indeed, UKTV’s original programming has contributed to the broadcasting network’s record success in the last year. North One’s Storage Hunters UK Celebrity Special on Dave was the network’s best performing show of 2015, with 989k viewers. Most Haunted Live on Really, meanwhile, trended above Strictly and X Factor on Twitter last year and delivered record viewing to the channel.
Last year, four of UKTV’s top ten performing titles were original commissions.
Jan Gooze-Zijl, Chief Financial and Operations Officer says: “Our over 20 per cent increase in content investment last year helped propel UKTV to record viewing, generating an all-time high level of revenue (£319.2m) and EBITDA (£82m). We also grew our share of commercial impacts to 9.31 per cent, enabling us to capitalise on the continued strength of the television and VOD advertising market.”
Hoff the Record Season 2 starts on Friday 6th May at 10pm on Dave and will available on-demand post-broadcast on Sky, Virgin and UKTV Play. Hoff the Record Season 1 is now available on UKTV Play.
