Trailer: Ahsoka arrives on Disney+ this August
7th April 2023
“Something’s coming. Something dark.” That’s the sound of Ahsoka Tano returning to our screens in her own Star Wars series – and a trailer gives us a first look at her in action once more.
Rosario Dawson first portrayed Ahsoka Tano in Chapter 13 of The Mandalorian, The Jedi. In the episode, the Mandalorian had sought her out in the hopes that she would train his ward, Grogu, in the ways of the Force. She declined but became an ally, and continued her own mission in locating Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Prior to Tano’s live-action debut, the character originated in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. Taught by Anakin Skywalker, she became a warrior and leader, before leaving the Jedi Order. Ahsoka would return in the Star Wars Rebels animated series, where should joined forces with the Ghost crew of rebels and duelled her fallen master.
Now, Ahsoka is heading to Disney+, along with Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and the grumpy droid Chopper. You can also expect to see Mon Mothma, Grand Admiral Thrawn and the ancient droid Huyang.
The series will premiere in August. Here’s the trailer, unveiled today at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023.
Filming begins on Disney+ Ahsoka series
10th May 2022
Filming is officially underway on Disney+’s Ahsoka Tano solo series.
Ahsoka Tano first debuted in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie, before starring in the animated series of the same name, and appearing in Star Wars Rebels and more. The beloved character then made the jump to live-action in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, played by Rosario Dawson.
Tano is one of the few Jedi Knights who have survived past the Skywalker saga told in the first six Star Wars films – The Mandalorian is set five years after Return of the Jedi, with Tano an apprentice of Skywalker. Written by Dave Filoni, this new limited series – one of several Mandalorian spin-offs, including Rangers of the New Republic and a solo outing for Lando Calrissia – will also see Hayden Christensen reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in some form or another. Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast in an unknown role.
Any further details are currently being kept under wraps but we do know Ahsoka is now one step closer to the screen, with Lucasfilm sharing a photo to mark the start of production.

Hayden Christensen joins Disney+ Ahsoka series
23rd October 2021
Hayden Christensen has joined the cast of the Star Wars series Ahsoka, which is on the way to Disney+.
After making her long awaited live-action debut in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano’s story, written by Dave Filoni, will continue in the limited series, starring Rosario Dawson and executive produced by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. The project, which was announced at the end of last year, was one of a number of spin-offs greenlit from The Mandalorian, including Rangers of the New Republic and a solo outing for Lando Calrissian.
Tano is one of the few Jedi Knights who have survived past the Skywalker saga told in the first six Star Wars films – The Mandalorian is set five years after Return of the Jedi, with Tano an apprentice of Skywalker. However, Christensen will appear in the series, reports The Hollywood Reporter, reprising his role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in some form or another. It would continue Christensen’s relationship with the Star Wars universe in its current generation, though, with the actor also set to reprise the role in the upcoming live-action Obi-Wan Kenobi series, starring Ewan McGregor.
Production on Ahsoka is due to begin in early 2022.
