Full list: 2015 BAFTA winners – and where to watch them online

Boyhood took home the BAFTA for Best Picture at last night’s ceremony, as Richard Linklater’s 12-year labour of love paid off.
The movie won Best Director and Best Support Actress to boot, beating down the competition from the equally-lauded Birdman and the hugely popular The Grand Budapest Hotel. Wes Anderson’s charming comedy – with a joy of performance from Ralph Fiennes – waltzed away with the most awards, bagging five gongs in total (including Original Screenplay and Music).
Elsewhere, the spotlight shone on The Theory of Everything, which trumped its boffin biopic rival The Imitation Game with Eddie Redmayne crowned Best Actor, and also won Best Adapted Screenplay and Outstanding British Film. The need for such a category when so many international movies are hailed at the expense of homegrown talent is always a disappointment from the BAFTAs and this year’s crop of winners (and nominees – hello Selma) are especially predictable. While it could be easy to lament the lack of gongs for Mr. Turner, though, director Mike Leigh turned up to collect the BAFTA Fellowship, which he accepted with humility and grace. “Your taste is your prerogative,” he told the British Academy, before thanking the “boneheads, Philistines and skinflints who said no” to funding his project, adding: “May you all rot in hell.”
Leigh also highlighted the importance of independent film, cinema that is created without interference. In the spirit of that most British of filmmakers, Boyhood’s triple triumph is undoubtedly something to celebrate.
The good news is it’s already out on DVD and VOD, along with a number of the other contenders. Here’s a full list of 2015 BAFTA winners – and where you can watch them online.
