Walter Presents is heading to France this February for another stylish slice of French TV from the creator of Braquo.
The crime thriller, created by former policeman Olivier Marchal, Elite Squad is an eight-episode box set about two rival cops.
Yach is forty-something, divorced, and a tough bastard. He is all instinct, aggression, and unorthodox work methods. Constantine, his complete opposite, is a man destroyed by the death of his wife, a cerebral and thoughtful type who plays by the rules.
Once, they were best friends. Now, they have a big score to settle. Something happened during a violent shootout which turned them into bitter rivals.
Lea, the big chief of the ELITE SQUAD, watches over them – she is tough, uncompromising, and hungry for power. She too was there on that fateful night – and she bears the scars. So when the vicious, ruthless criminal that got away on the night of the shootout comes back on the scene, they all want to get him. At all costs.
A look at the darker side of law enforcement, all eight episodes of the show will be released at once on All 4’s online channel, which is dedicated to foreign-language TV. Now a year old, the site has racked up over 17 million streams in the last 12 months, kicking off 2017 with Icelandic mystery Case and Nordic drama Acquitted. Elite Squad sees the site head back to France, joining French series Match Day, Mafiosa, No Limit, The Hunter and Tony’s Revenge.
All episodes of Elite Squad will be available on Walter Presents from Friday 3rd February. For more on the site’s other shows, including reviews and what’s coming soon, click here.
