Preacher is back on UK TV screens this August for its fourth and final run,
AMC’s show, which is based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s warped comic books, has swiftly established itself as one of the most uniquely depraved series on the telly. It follows the twisted tale of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a small-town preacher inhabited by an angel-demon spawn that gives him the power to make people do his bidding, Tulip (Ruth Negga), his volatile true love, and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), a 119-year-old Irish vampire.
“Preacher is a show unlike any other on television,” David Madden, president of programming for AMC, said when announcing the fourth season. “A passionate base of fans found their way to Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy and have followed along with their adventures, at times indescribable adventures, for three seasons. We are thankful to our partners at Sony and to Seth, Evan and Sam for everything they have brought to this series.”
Season 3 ended with Jesse saying goodbye to his home of Angelville and reuniting with Tulip, while Herr Starr’s master plan for the Grail continued to advance. Season 4 picks up as Jesse is rocked by visions of an apocalyptic future, while he and Tulip prepare for an all-out assault on Masada, where Cassidy – trapped to a torturous fate – struggles to hang on. But Starr and his Grail operatives are ready for them…
Season 4 premieres on Monday 5th August on Amazon Prime Video, with episodes then arriving weekly on Mondays within 24 hours of their US broadcast. Here’s the trailer:

Preacher Season 3: AMC teases more twisted fun at Comic-Con
21st July 2019
“Fun time’s over. The apocalypse approaches.” That’s the threat issued in the new trailer for Preacher Season 3, unveiled at Comic-Con this weekend.
“Preacher is still firmly a unique talking point for people everywhere, in that there truly is no other show quite like it. Witty, measured, and bursting with chaos, Preacher is a modern day miracle – it really has to be seen to be believed,” we wrote in our review of Season 3, which is currently airing weekly on Amazon Prime Video – with episodes arriving within 24 hours of their US broadcast on AMC.
But with only a few episodes released this season so far, there are still many hours of warped entertainment to come – and AMC was at Comic-Con on Friday night to give us a taste. The video gives us a glimpse of all manner of weird chaos, from Cassidy chilling with some caped vamps in New Orleans, Tulip suggesting Jesse kill Gran’ma, and the woman in question sitting down for a chat with none other than Satan.
“He is a disgusting mountainous thing of a man who just eats and makes himself vomit,” EP Seth Rogen said at the Comic-Con panel of the Allfather, the leader of the Grail, who is also featured in the trailer. “There is a scene in which they eat a horse — and that is a weird scene.”
Negga also commented on the love triangle that sort of exists between our lead trio.
“I think they’re wedded to each other, this threesome,” she explained. “And I think it’s a very deep and soulful connection and I don’t think either one of them would truly risk losing that. They’re these outlier pariahs and I think they’re the only family they have. They have that refrain ‘Until the end of the world’ and I think Tulip feels that about Jesse and Cassidy, albeit in different ways.”
Read on for the video – or, to get a quick sense of just how far Preacher is pushing televisual boundaries of decency and predictability, try this quote from Rogen at Comic-Con: “We never guessed having Hitler in the show would be relevant.”

First look: Preacher Season 3 premieres on Amazon UK this June
11th April 2018
Amazon has today announced that the third season of Preacher will premiere on Prime Video in the UK this June.
Based on the cult comic book franchise, Preacher tells the absurdly twisted tale of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a small-town preacher inhabited by an angel-demon spawn that gives him the power to make people do his bidding, Tulip (Ruth Negga), his volatile true love, and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), a 119-year-old Irish vampire.
In Season 2, after Jesse accidentally discovered that God is absent from Heaven, the three of them set out on a road trip to find Him, all while being hunted by the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish), an unstoppable, mythical killer from Hell. The trio’s pursuit led them to New Orleans, where they dodged local gangsters, dangerous agents, and other unimaginable mayhem on their way to uncovering an even bigger secret. Now, with Tulip’s life and Cassidy’s friendship in the balance, Jesse must rely on a mysterious figure from his past in order to save his friends and continue on with his mission.
The 10-episode run is inspired by the second volume of the comic book franchise, Until the End of the World. It will again star Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia), Ruth Negga (Loving), Joseph Gilgun (Lockout) and Graham McTavish (Outlander), alongside Ian Coletti (Baby Mama), Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones), Pip Torrens (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul, Fargo), Malcolm Barrett (Dear White People), Justin Prentice (13 Reasons Why, Awkward) and Ronald Guttman (Mozart in the Jungle, Mad Men). This season, they will be joined by newcomers Betty Buckley (Supergirl), Jeremy Childs (Nashville), Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies) and Liz McGeever (Homeland).
