Death on the Nile will sail onto Disney+ UK this March, 20th Century Studios has confirmed.
Directed by and starring eight-time Academy Award nominee Kenneth Branagh and featuring an all-star ensemble cast, the film is based on the 1937 novel by Agatha Christie. Kenneth Branagh, back as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot, is joined by Tom Bateman, four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders and Letitia Wright.
The film reunites the filmmaking team behind 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and is written by Michael Green, with the producers including Ridley Scott, Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund and Kevin J Walsh. Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short.
Filmed with 65mm Panavision cameras in late 2019, the production recreates many of the locations that served as inspiration for Christie’s high society thriller. After its cinema release earlier this year, the film will now be released on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland on 30th March, as part of the streaming service’s adult-friendly Star section.
