Nick Mohammed and David Schwimmer return for Intelligence Season 2 in June
David Farnor | On 27, Apr 2021
Nick Mohammed and David Schwimmer will reteam this June for Season 2 of Sky One comedy Intelligence.
Created, written and executive produced by Nick Mohammed, the series follows maverick NSA man Jerry (David Schwimmer), who comes over from the US to join the UK’s GCHQ — where the country tackles international and domestic Cyber Crime from desktop computers. Season 1 saw Jerry enlists inept and tactless computer analyst Joseph (Nick Mohammed) in a power grab that threatened to disrupt the team’s ability to combat cyber terrorism.
“Nick Mohammed and David Schwimmer are a promising double-act,” we wrote in our review.
Season 2 sees Jerry on the back foot and owing a favour to his boss, Christine (Sylvestra Le Touzel). However, when it’s revealed that the Russians have got their hands on a cyberweapon that Jerry was instrumental in developing, his intel suddenly becomes vital to national, if not international, security. Facing some demons from his past along the way, by the end of Episode 1 he is firmly back in his alpha male comfort zone. Meanwhile Joseph (Nick Mohammed) has romance on the cards since sparking up an online friendship with Charlotte from the GCHQ offices in Bude – and not even Jerry’s meddling nor Christine’s ban on cross-departmental relationships can get in the way.
Co-starring Jane Stanness, Gana Bayarsaikhan, Oliver Birch, Eliot Salt and Colin Salmon, Season 2 will air on Sky One on 8th June, with all episodes available at once on-demand.

First look: David Schwimmer in Sky One’s Intelligence
17th November 2019
David Schwimmer is coming to Sky One next year in new comedy Intelligence, and now, we have our first look at the Friends star in action.
Created and written by Nick Mohammed, Intelligence is a workplace comedy set in the UK’s GCHQ — where the country tackles international and domestic Cyber Crime from desktop computers.
When an arrogant, maverick NSA agent Jerry (David Schwimmer) comes over from the US to join the team, he enlists an inept and tactless computer analyst Joseph (Nick Mohammed) in a power grab that threatens to disrupt the team’s ability to combat cyber terrorism.
The six-part Sky original series also stars Sylvestra Le Touzel, Jane Stanness, Gana Bayarsaikhan, Oliver Birch, Eliot Salt and Colin Salmon.
Jon Mountague, Sky’s Director of Comedy, says: “Intelligence is an absolute peach of a show; genuinely juicy, truly funny and shot through with a chemistry that won’t be top secret for long. Forget Harry and Meghan, David and Nick’s is an Anglo-American relationship for our times. 2020 is going to be an even bigger year for Sky original comedies on Sky One – and they don’t come much more special than this.”
Schwimmer adds: “I think you’ll find this is the best TV comedy made in the last two hundred years. You can’t see my face, but I’m super serious.”
The series will air on Sky One and streaming service NOW in February 2020.
David Schwimmer to star in Sky One spy comedy Intelligence
14th December 2018
David Schwimmer will star in Intelligence, a new spy comedy from Sky One.
The series is set in the UK’s Government Communications Headquarters, a weedier, geekier, more bureaucratic version of MI5 and MI6. The six-part workplace comedy sees a power-hungry, maverick NSA agent (Schwimmer) come over to join an inept and tactless computer analyst and a newly-formed team tackling cybercrime, shaking up everything they know.
Nick Mohammed (The Martian and Christopher Robin) will write and executive produce the six-part series, as well as starring alongside Schwimmer.
Jon Mountague, Head of Comedy, Sky Entertainment, says: “Nick Mohammed has written a brilliantly funny comedy series in Intelligence. David & Nick are hilarious together and so perfectly represent the special relationship between our two great nations. I can’t wait.”
Schwimmer adds: “I have no idea what this show is about but if it’s called Intelligence, naturally I’m going to be part of it.”
Mohammed comments: “Getting to work with David has been an absolute dream come true. He’s collaborative, honest and exquisitely funny and I couldn’t be more delighted and flattered by his involvement. On saying that, we did initially offer the part to the local shoplifter from Blackpool, but he wasn’t available sadly. Either way, we hope that everyone at GCHQ is as excited about this series as we are. I presume they were aware of this series being green-lit way before we ever were…”
Nerys Evans, Expectation’s Creative Director, Comedy, says: “Even though the stakes are really high for the team, fighting cyber-crime, our six-part comedy series reveals the reality is not dissimilar to any other office environment, from temperamental photocopiers to meeting rooms being double booked. David Schwimmer and Nick Mohammed have a fantastic ‘odd couple’ chemistry and the scripts are brilliantly funny, we can’t wait to see the world of Intelligence come to life.”
Intelligence is a co-production with Expectation and Dark Harbor Stories. The executive producer is Nerys Evans for Expectation.
