“Everyone close to you always ends up suffering. Now it’s your turn brother…” That’s the sound of See returning to Apple TV+, and a new trailer gives us a full look at Season 2.
The sci-fi drama is set in a brutal and primitive future, hundreds of years after humankind has lost the ability to see. Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, a fearless tribal leader who decides to raise two children born with the ability to see – only for trouble to come calling.
In Season 2 he is struggling to reunite his family while protecting them as the threat of war looms between the Kingdom of Paya and the Trivantian Republic. Despite his best efforts, his wife and sighted children are pulled to the forefront of the conflict, where they come to the attention of his estranged brother, Edo Voss (Dave Bautista), a powerful and cunning Trivantian General, whose long-simmering hatred for his brother imperils them all even further.
Joining Momoa, Bautista and Alfre Woodard in the second season are new series regulars Eden Epstein (“Sweetbitter”), Tom Mison (“Watchmen”), Hoon Lee (“Warrior”), Olivia Cheng (“Warrior”), David Hewlett (“The Shape of Water”) and Tamara Tunie (“Flight”).
Season 2 will premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday 27th August, with episodes arriving weekly. Here’s the trailer:
Trailer: See returns for Season 2 this August
11th June 2021
See will return to Apple TV+ this August and a new teaser trailer gives us a first look at the second season.
The sci-fi series takes place in the far future and humankind has lost its sense of sight. It stars Jason Momoa as leader Baba Voss, who decides to raise two children born with the ability to see – only for trouble to come calling.
“This enjoyably ambitious sci-fi dystopia is packed with gruff potential,” we wrote in our review.
Season 2 will see Baba Voss fighting to reunite his torn-apart family and get away from the war and politics that surround him. But the more he moves away, the deeper he gets sucked in, and the emergence of his nemesis brother threatens his family even more. It will introduce Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Edo Voss, the brother of Baba Voss. New series regular cast members also joining Bautista this season include Eden Epstein (Sweetbitter), Tom Mison (Watchmen), Hoon Lee (Warrior), Olivia Cheng (Warrior), David Hewlett (The Shape of Water) and Tamara Tunie (Flight).
The series features cast and crew who are blind or have low vision and has been honored for its representation of the visually impaired, winning the Ruderman Family Foundation Seal of Authentic Representation in 2020. Apple, meanwhile, is clearly confident of the show’s success and appeal, already ordering a third run before Season 2 has even arrived, describing it as a “fan favourite” since it premiered on Apple TV+ in November 2019.
Season 2 will premiere on 27th August. Here’s the video:
Dave Bautista joins See for Season 2
14th January 2020
Dave Bautista has joined the cast of See for Season 2.
One of the highest profile launch titles for Apple TV+, See is an epic drama starring Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard. Created by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), the sci-fi series is set 600 years in the future after a virus has decimated humankind and rendered the remaining population blind. When Jason Momoa decides to raise two children born with the ability to see, then, it’s not long until trouble comes calling.
“This enjoyably ambitious sci-fi dystopia is packed with gruff potential,” we wrote in our review.
Now, things are about to get gruffer, with Deadline reporting that Guardians of the Galaxy star Bautista will join Momoa – a sign that Apple TV+ certainly knows the appeal and audience for its show.
Jonathan Tropper will serve as showrunner for Season 2, executive producing alongside Knight and director Francis Lawrence. There is no word yet on a release date for the second season.
